Hosted by NORTH Link, The Northern Business Achievement Awards are a partnership of industry, education, local and state government and decision makers across Melbourne’s north and essential events for those seeking to do business in the region. They recognise the business achievements of SMEs and encourage business excellence, growth and competitiveness.
This year Banyule council nominated The Greenery Garden and Home and Upzeez. Both very different businesses and both contributing so much to Banyule and our Economic profile.
Chris Olufeso from Upzeez was nominated due to his sheer determination, passion and commitment – a true entrepreneur that will succeed in delivering a product that will help change the lives on many!
We sat down with Chirs to hear about his NBAA experience so far.
Congratulations on being nominated – how did it feel when you were notified?
Totally shocked and ecstatic at the same time. These moments of recognition or acknowledgement are so rare that I honestly don’t seek, look or expect them at all.
Being nominated for NBAA puts you “centre stage” with key businesses, and industry partners in the north, what has been the impact on Upzeez since being nominated?
It’s really hard to say or even measure but its nice to hear some people say they have heard of Upzeez or talk about my story on how Upzeez was started.
Awards will be announced on 1 December 2022 – how are your confidence levels?
I am not phased by such things as my focus is solely on the impact. Bringing the NextGen of Baby Nursery furniture to selfless mothers, parents and also people living with disabilities is where the real gem lies.
We wish both Chris from Upzeez and the team at The Greenery Garden and Home all the best for the awards.
