Centres & Trader Associations

Banyule Business is proud of its nationally renowned retail marketing and management schemes which are delivered by eleven active Traders Associations.

Each special rate scheme is overseen by an incorporated traders association that has appointed a part time Centre Manager to coordinate the association’s activities and act as a key point of contact between Council and the association (including its broader membership base). Banyule Council is fortunate to have access to eight Centre Managers across its eleven key retail centres.

Our Traders Associations for our retail centres include:

Supporting our retail centres through schemes

Banyule Council has a successful program of support for retail centres in the form of a Special Rates and Charges Program. Delivered in partnership with trader’s associations, these programs not only market and promote the local offer, but act as a catalyst for investment and coordination of activity. The broader marketing and promotional activities that these schemes deliver can include community events, competitions, newsletters, advertising and business
networking opportunities.
These initiatives encourage commerce, retail and professional activity and employment in our retail centres. Our special rate and charge schemes are considered a model nationally for funding contributions and associated support.
