Effective 11:59pm Sunday 6 December a number of restrictions have ben eased as we move to a COVIDSafe Summer.

Masks – Masks are now only required on public transport, in rideshare vehicles and taxis inside indoor shopping centres, supermarkets, department stores, electronics stores, furniture stores and hardware stores.

It is recommended that masks continue to be worn indoors or outdoors when it’s not possible to maintain distancing and must be carried at all times.

Hospitality -The density limit in all pubs, restaurants and cafes is now 1 person per 2sq metres (both indoors and outdoors), provided electronic record keeping (QR code) is used. There is no other venue cap.

A density limit of 1 person per 4sq metres applies if using manual record keeping.

For small venues, there is no density limits if the patron number is under 25.

Retail – The density limit is now 1 person per 2sq metres, and electronic record keeping is recommended where practical.

Personal care and body art services – The density limit is now 1 person per 2sq metres if using electronic record keeping. Otherwise, a density limit of 1 person per 4sq metres applies if using manual record keeping.

Gyms and fitness centres – The density limit for indoor physical recreation facilities is now 1 person per 4sq metres, with indoor exercise classes limited to 50 patrons.

Restrictions have eased and COVIDSafe requirements have been updated  for nightclubs, offices accommodation venues, indoor entertainment venues and creative studios.
