Earlier this year we surveyed local home-based businesses to learn more about the different types of businesses operating in Banyule and to understand the support and services required in order to contribute to the local economy. You ca see the results in this report.

The Banyule homebased business survey was developed in response to the opportunities identified in Banyule’s Economic Development Plan 2015 – 2020.

Some of the key findings are:

• The top 3 best descriptions of Banyule home based businesses are: Business/Consulting services (18.18%), Finance/Accounting (13.13%) and Graphic Design/Web Development (10.10%)
• The majority of home based businesses (61.86%) have been in operation for four years or less.
• 92% of respondents consider their role full time; 53.06% part time and 5.10% consider their business to be a hobby or interest.
