Place Making

Outdoor Dining and Place Activations

As a result of the Victorian State Government’s 2021/22 Extended Outdoor
Dining Program, a number of initiatives were rolled out including a pop-up park that was installed in Heidelberg. The park received overwhelmingly positive community feedback. Since then, outdoor parklets have been installed in many areas across Banyule including the Ivanhoe Library, Burton Crescent, Burgundy Street and the Greensborough Walk. These spaces are now in the process of being activated by the team to engage the local community and ensure their longevity.

Council continues to explore place making opportunities to create vibrant, attractive spaces that connect community with their local shopping centres.
